Upholstery, energized.
Introducing a textile revolution – Designtex CELLIANT®
Designtex CELLIANT is a proprietary textile backing. It’s clinically demonstrated to harness and recycle a person’s body heat into infrared energy, which increases local circulation and cellular oxygenation to help thermoregulate, increase energy and promote wellbeing.
What’s Inside?
CELLIANT is a mixture of safe, naturally-occurring, thermo-reactive minerals embedded in fiber. The minerals used in CELLIANT are non-conflict and ethically-sourced.
How it Works
-
1. Sit
Sit down, relax, and enjoy the benefits of Designtex CELLIANT. Seriously, that’s it.
-
2. Emit
The body naturally gives off enough energy to power a 100-watt lightbulb. That’s the fuel that powers the upholstery
-
3. Relax
The Designtex CELLIANT upholstery absorbs the body’s heat and converts it into infrared energy.
-
4. Harness + Be Well
The recycled energy is reflected back to the body as infrared and absorbed into the skin and tissue. Yes, even through layers of fabric.
Learn More About the Technology
The science behind Designtex Celliant
What is in CELLIANT?
CELLIANT is a mixture of safe, naturally-occurring, thermo-reactive minerals embedded in fiber. The minerals used in CELLIANT are non-conflict and ethically-sourced.
How is CELLIANT made?
Thermo-reactive minerals are ground into a powder with polyester resin and extruded into fiber. The fiber is used to create the non-woven backing found in our textiles. Because the minerals are introduced at the resin level, CELLIANT will not wash out or lose its effectiveness over the upholstery’s lifetime.
How does CELLIANT reflect infrared and increase wellness?
The thermo-reactive minerals in CELLIANT transform body heat into full-spectrum infrared energy, and reflect it back to be used by the body.
In clinical testing, CELLIANT has been demonstrated to temporarily increase tissue oxygen levels in the body, which is widely recognized to aid in comfort and healing. CELLIANT-backed textiles boost wellbeing through temporary increases in local circulation, cellular oxygenation, temperature regulation, and faster cell recovery.
How did we test our textiles?
Our CELLIANT textiles were tested on healthy adult participants between the ages of 19 and 70. We used a standard test method, TcPO2 (transcutaneous oxygen pressure), to measure tissue oxygenation levels. Participants were tested in contact with Designtex CELLIANT upholstery for 90 minutes and with a placebo material for 90 minutes. Designtex CELLIANT upholstery showed an average increase in tissue oxygenation of ~8%. Each textile was tested twice to ensure repeatability and confirm the results.
10.2% Maximum increase in tissue oxygenation
7.9% Average increase in tissue oxygenation
What other products use CELLIANT?
CELLIANT is used in popular products already on the market like athletic apparel, sleepwear, and bedding.

Harness your Energy
Designtex CELLIANT starts to work within minutes, resulting in improved local circulation and cell oxygenation. Improved local circulation can increase energy, speed recovery from physical activity, and support the body’s ability to regulate its temperature. Infrared energy is clinically demonstrated to promote local circulation. It is invisible to the human eye, but thermal imaging catches it in action.
Upholstery Just Got an Upgrade
Designtex CELLIANT is available in three styles and over forty colors, with more on the way.
FAQs
No. Designtex CELLIANT increases local circulation, which allows your body to either warm up or cool down (depending on the environment), thus bringing you to homeostasis and perfect temperature.
No. While some users report feeling particular sensations such as a light tingling at the site of application, you will not necessarily feel an increase in local circulation or cell oxygenation. However, clinical testing has measured significant improvements across a wide spectrum of test subjects, and consumers who try CELLIANT often experience increased comfort and an overall improved sense of health.
Designtex CELLIANT starts working within minutes, continues while you sit, and even delivers residual effects that follow you into your day.
No. The CELLIANT fibers are embedded into the textile backing. It won’t wash off or wear out — even under the most rigorous cleaning protocols.
No. Infrared can pass through materials. Designtex CELLIANT is effective through layers of clothing and fabric. All that’s needed is contact with the upholstery.
No. The technology is non-invasive. The FDA classifies CELLIANT products as low-risk, general wellness products, which are intended to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The US FDA has determined that CELLIANT products are medical devices as defined in section 201(h) of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and are general wellness products. In addition, CELLIANT is designated as a Class 1 Medical Device in Australia, Canada, the European Union, Japan, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. CELLIANT is cleared to market in China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, with more countries and regions to follow.
